Puppy Sandwich

Happy Birthday to Frederic. Doesn’t he have the cutest little doggies. Such good posers too!

George and Brooklyn

Today I’m wishing my friend George a very Happy Birthday. Last night we had a Halloween party at George’s and I promised that he would be on A Dog A Day for his birthday. Of course, he had to cuddle with cutie-pie Brooklyn in order to ensure that we had a dog on today’s post. Isn’t she adorable? Happy Birthday George. Hope you have a great day.

4 + 2: Tales for the pet lover’s heart

Later today, at 1pm EST , a great new program will be airing on WGN America. It’s called 4+2: Tales for the Pet Lovers Heart. Leesia Teh is a fantastic dog photographer and is one of the pet lovers featured on the program. One of my photos will also be up during Leesia’s segment, so be sure to check it out if you get the chance. I don’t get WGN, so I’ll have to wait until the clip is on the internet. I’ll post the link when it’s up.

Bedroom Eyes

When I saw this shot, I immediately thought of a boudoir scene. The sofa, the relaxed pose, those eyes. She could be the poster girl for pet companionship.

Does anyone know what breed she might be?

Zoe at Balboa Park

A couple of weekends ago, we took Zoe hiking along the trails in Balboa Park. Even though we only went for a short hike, it was a warm day, and her tongue started getting longer and longer. I photographed her at the end of the hike while she enjoyed the views. This image reminds me so much of Australia, with all the gum trees. A little piece of home here in San Diego.

Gone Fishing

This was one of the first dog photographs I captured when I moved to San Diego. We were investigating our new neighbourhood and were quite taken with our proximity to San Diego Bay. This little fellow was keeping his humans company while they were fishing.

Puppy’s family portrait

Happy Birthday Rebecca. I hope you have a wonderful day with your beautiful family.

Once again, this photo was taken in Balboa Park, San Diego. I love to use the architecture available to me to create a unique image and when I saw these steps in front of this old blue door, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. For me, the colours really work together and I get a kick out of how everyone’s paws are hanging in unison. You’d almost think I had planned it that way.

I really hope I get the opportunity to photograph more dogs in interesting urban settings. I really love architecture and I should photograph it more often, but I usually find it lacks life without people or dogs included.
