Samson

There is just something about Great Danes that I love. They are so very big, but also so gentle. A gentle giant you would say. Samson is easily the largest Great Dane I have ever met. At 88kg (193 pounds) he outweighed his diminutive human by so much that she usually needs her husband with her to take Samson for a walk. He has two leashes connected to his collar to make it a little easier to have one person on either side of him. He travels in the back seat of their car and I would dearly loved to have seen that.

Do you love the elegance of Great Dane’s? Check out Lionel as he takes a walk.

Million Paws

Every year in Australia the RSPCA holds the Million Paws Walk to raise much needed funds for the great work they do. Today’s photo was taken at last year’s walk in Canberra. It is such a fantastic day and I’m sure the thousands of dogs who attend with their people know to be on their best behaviour that day. All the old rules of personal space seem to go out the window and you can have dogs of all shapes and sizes crammed into a small area without any fights. This year, the Million Paws Walk is on 18 May 08. I’ll be sorry to miss it, but surely there is an equivalent here in the USA.

I have a feeling that this beautiful dog is a Border Collie, but I can’t be sure. Does anyone know?

Man’s best friend 2

I love a fella who is so secure in his manhood that he will cuddle a small fluffy dog in public. I do not know him, and no I don’t have his phone number.
