I captured this photo when we visited Idyllwild back in March. Quite a lot of the business owners had their pets in the store with them. I really wish I could take my dog into work.
I’ve noticed over the last couple of years that I’ve photographed quite a lot of ‘doodles’…you know…labradoodles, goldendoodles etc. Anyone have another type I’ve doodle I should know about? How about a Cockerdoodle? That would be funny.
My sister Emily has just returned from her cruise in the South Pacific. She called me yesterday to let me know that during the trip she got engaged to her long time partner Troy. I couldn’t be happier for them both and I’m so pleased that Troy will be joining our family.
Today’s photo of their boy Russ is dedicated to the happy event. I know Emily’s been waiting ever so patiently for her boy to show up on the blog.
We aren’t really sure how old Russ is because he was found as a stray. He’s the most gentle dog I know and has such a laid back presence. Even when he runs after a ball he looks like he’s doing it in slow motion.

The other weekend I took my friend Liz up to La Jolla for the afternoon to check out this beautiful suburb. Thankfully I took my camera with me because there were so many dogs out and about. We met Bella as we were in search of some coffee. She is a Goldendoodle, a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, so I guess she’s now blessed with looks and a brain. She’s certainly a pretty girl. Check out those eyelashes!
I’m sure that Bailey’s Mum has been keeping an eye on this blog, just waiting for the inevitable appearance of her darling boy. And what a photogenic boy he is. I have so many beautiful photos of Bailey that you are assured of seeing him again.
This photo was taken soon after I purchased all my studio equipment. Zoe got sick of sitting in front of strobes lights so I needed to find other dogs to practice on. Bailey and his sister Jonty were the perfect troopers.
