Cowgirl loves her dog
October 9, 2008 – 5:19 am
This photo was taken in Julian, California not long after I arrived in the USA. I was fascinated to see someone actually wearing a ‘cowgirl’ hat. I know this is going to sound so funny to the Americans reading this, but honestly when you live in another country, you aren’t sure whether to believe certain stereotypes exist. Anyway, I’m extremely happy to find that people actually wear Stetsons (is that what they’re called?) and when we were in Texas my dear husband had to physically remove me from the shop before I bought myself some boots and matching hat. Not sure that an Aussie girl could have pulled it off in SoCal.
Surf’s Up!
October 7, 2008 – 5:01 am
Here’s another fun shot from the Surf Dog Carnival held at Imperial Beach back in June. You might remember this photo from the same day. It’s amazing to see dogs this talented. I can guarantee I wouldn’t have been able to stay on a surfboard in these waves.
This weekend just gone, we took Zoe down to the local dog beach here in Coronado. The surf was as big as I’ve seen here and the tide was well in. Zoe had a fantastic time, as always, and seemed to be more content playing in the waves than chasing balls that weren’t hers. It was a nice change.
Three little dogs
October 5, 2008 – 9:27 am
I thought we were in need of a photo which was a bit lighter after a couple of sad days. I captured this at the 4th of July parade in Coronado, California. We have so many visitors throughout Summer, but on the 4th of July the whole village was crammed with locals and visitors alike. The only way to get around town was to walk or ride your bike. These little fellas were travelling in style. Incidentally, does anyone know what breed these three are?
Stay tuned for some very exciting news tomorrow. I’m going to be celebrating a milestone and giving away something for FREE. Be sure to come visit.
An antidote to doom and gloom
September 29, 2008 – 8:07 pm
When watching the news tonight about the largest single-day point decline in the history of the American stock market, it’s easy to get caught up in the doom and gloom. As an antidote, I think I’m going to look at cute photos of adorable doggies and know that everything will be ok. This is a history making day, and I think the world is going to change a lot in the near future. I’m doing my best to stay grounded and remember what’s really important in my life….family, friends and my fur-baby.
This photograph was taken on 4th of July, but it’s taken me this long to even look at the shots I took that day!
Zoe at Balboa Park
September 28, 2008 – 5:31 pm
A couple of weekends ago, we took Zoe hiking along the trails in Balboa Park. Even though we only went for a short hike, it was a warm day, and her tongue started getting longer and longer. I photographed her at the end of the hike while she enjoyed the views. This image reminds me so much of Australia, with all the gum trees. A little piece of home here in San Diego.
Wanting to be outside
