Me

- My name is Mia Clapton.
- I’m Australian.
- I’m living in San Diego, USA for three years.
- I’m working as an Aerospace Engineer, but I don’t like my job to define me so I probably won’t mention it again.
Living in the USA
- I moved to California in late 2007 because I was offered this awesome position….one of those opportunities that comes your way very rarely, if at all.
- I love living in the USA. There is so much happening all the time. People may think there is little cultural difference between Australia and the USA. I can assure you, there is a big difference.
- I love discovering those differences.
- I get to travel a lot with my work so have already seen quite a lot of USA and Canada since we’ve been here.
- I’ve made some great friends here and I think I have a more active social life here than I did in Australia.
My Family
- My husband Brendan and my German Shepherd, Zoe also came to America with me.
- Zoe is one well travelled dog. She likes America because the people love her and we seem to have more time to spend with her.
- My parents and sister live in Queensland, Australia. I miss them dearly and try to make an effort to keep in touch despite the vast distance between us and my crazy schedule.
My Passions.
- I love dogs and I love photography. That much is pretty obvious.
- I love to travel and I spend as much time travelling as work, my husband and the budget will allow. I have a huge list of places I want to visit before I leave this earth. I’m making good headway on it.
- I love lists. Can’t live without them. I’ve even managed to turn this section into a list. It wasn’t intentional.
- I love to read and usually have about three books on the go at once. I’ve just joined a local book group and am looking forward to meeting some new people.
- I love to talk. Friends and family are so important to me and I can easily spend a whole afternoon chatting to my Mum on the phone or to my friends over coffee or wine.
- Oh yeah…I love coffee and wine.
- I love life and try to get as much out of it as possible.
- I love this world, and try to give as much back to it as possible. It never seems to be enough.
What else?
This is by no means a definitive list. Want to know anything else about me? Just ask.
