Pepsi Cola Dog

Previously ‘Coca Cola Dog’ in this photo. He doesn’t have any brand loyalty.

Buster is itchy

I don’t know why but this boy just looks like he needs to be called Buster. He was quite the character. I first saw him curled into a ball and sleeping quite soundly near a couple of girls who were enjoying the day near some Mexican waterfalls. As he got up, stretched and wandered off I decided to follow him and snap some shots.

Mexican market puppy

Brendan has made me promise to show a happier photo from our Central American trip. Sorry if the last few weeks have been a little sad. I promise there were lots of happy puppies over there, and I’ll try to put some more of those on the blog.

This shot was taken in a little market near some beautiful cascading waterfalls, not far from Palenque, Mexico. I tried my hardest not to buy too much this trip. Usually I come home with twice the luggage I left with, but this time it was just photos I came home with.

The hardest thing

The hardest thing I’m finding about A Dog A Day is coming up with a new title for each new photo. After nine months of doing this, I’m finding it extremely hard to come up with a catchy title each and every day. Today, I’ve drawn a complete blank…sorry. Happy to take suggestions!

Mayawalk

This shot was taken in San Ignacio, Belize outside the tour operator through which I organised our horse-riding treck through the beautiful countryside surrounding the town.

I’ve not done a whole lot of horse-riding in the past, but because I’d done some I ended up with a racehorse who was just amazing. He was so responsive and he loved to run. Unfortunately, because I have short legs my stirrups were just too long and I never really felt quite secure on him. That wasn’t helped when I fell off…. not once, but twice. Once into a ditch on the side of the road, and the second time into the water during a river crossing. I wasn’t hurt at all, and at least now I can say I’ve fallen off a horse!

It was one of the most memorable days of our recent trip to Central America.

What’ya got?

Here’s another shot taken in Mexico. This pup was a gorgeous shade of chocolate bown, but I think he looked so striking in black & white.
